I would say that any game from Assassins Creed 4 on would hold up to modern standards for gameplay and graphics, so any of those would be a great place to start. That’s: Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate, and Origins. I would pick whichever game’s location is most intriguing to you and start there. If origins is the most intriguing, then go for it!
Origins is the 10th main game of the series, so there’s been a lot of previous information and action. If you’re interested, I would watch a recap or summary video of the first game, then pick up the Ezio Collection and play that yourself.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was the first open-world game in the Assassin's Creed series, and serves as its sixth major installment. Black Flag is considered by many to be the best Assassin's Creed title in the franchise, even though it has a lower Metacritic score than both Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
