That's really dependent on individual headphones. Also as much as I'd love to recommend him some Focals I think their cheapest headphone is the $700 USD Massdrop x Focal Elex. And you're looking at another ~$500 USD for an amp/DAC chain to do it justice. :lol: The Focal Spirit Pros can be found for less than $200 US.
The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO are better critical listening headphones than the Sennheiser HD 600. The Beyerdynamic offer a better value thanks to their excellent build quality and great audio reproduction. They feel a lot more durable than the Sennheiser and have a slightly better sound that packs more bass. However, the Sennheiser have a slightly better representation of instruments and vocals
The DT 880 Pro feels substantial in the hand at 295 grams. They look and feel more expensive than they are. The headband itself is made of solid steel and is much thicker than average. I have yet to hear of anyone managing to break the headband on these. The DT 990 Premium headband feels flimsy in comparison.
